Dear Lytle Creek Students and Families,

Welcome to Lytle Creek Elementary School – home of the LIONS!  I am thrilled to be the new Lytle Creek Principal and I can’t wait to meet all of you. This is my 18th year working in the San Bernardino City Unified School District as a teacher and an administrator.  I am very passionate about, and committed to, providing a safe, nurturing and engaging environment for all of our students. I look forward to working with teachers, students, and families to create a positive culture where each student feels valued, confident and successful!

This year we will continue our AVID focus of writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization and rigor, as well as our continued implementation of the No Excuses University program, which also fosters high expectations of academic achievement for all students, as well as a school culture focused on college and career.

Our school also offers the Alternative Bilingual Education (ABE) program for our English Learners.  This program is intended to develop high levels of proficiency in Spanish and English and prepare students for the ELPAC, Reclassification, Bi-literacy Certificate, and the CAASPP. ABE classes are offered at each grade level, including am and pm Kinder! Our ABE staff is committed to helping our English Learners become bilingual!

Lytle Creek is committed to offering quality instruction to all students in accordance with the District’s Community Engagement Plan:

  • Applied Learning: Ensuring relevant, engaging, applied learning experiences for all students.
  • Learning Beyond the Boundaries: Organizing student learning experiences based on readiness, need and relevance, which provides and promotes learning beyond the boundaries of the classroom, the clock, and the calendar.
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Strengthening human capacity through systems of coaching, internships, externships and mentoring throughout the organization.
  • Network of Alliances: Pursuing and sustaining meaningful networks of alliances in the community.
  • College and Career: Providing college and career academies that focus on instruction on industry standards and 21st Century demands.
  • Resource Acquisition and Allocation: We will acquire and properly allocate resources aligned with our mission and goals.
  • Success and Accountability: We will establish metrics for the success and accountability of key programs and processes and ensure equity and access to excellence for all students.
  • Health, Wellness and Safety: We will build an environment and foster a culture which sustains good healthy, lifelong wellness, and safety.

Thank you for choosing Lytle Creek for your student's education!  We are very excited to begin this partnership in fostering lifelong learners.  Should you have any questions, please call our office at (909) 388-6382.
